I'm an Italian 7-string bassist and composer.
I started playing when I was eight but seriously at the late age of seventeen. I came from a musical family and was influenced early on by my grandfadther that was a musician too. In the late 80's I move to Milan and studied at Cpm school. After spending some years in Milan I started my professional career as a sideman. I have fond memories of those years because those were the first experiences I had on stage. I played in live tour with: Massimo Priviero (this was an important step for me as it meant the beginning of performing professionally on the music scene), Nomenclatura and I performed in clubs with Ernie Wilkins,Gianni Basso, Curtis Fuller, Massimo Manzi, Riccardo Arrighini, Riccardo Fioravanti, Riccardo Fassi, Mauro Grossi, Andrea Melani,Walter Paoli, Fulvio Sisti to name a few. In the next years I studied double bass at La Spezia Conservatory with Gian Pietro Zampella. My own story changed when I met great jazz teacher Charlie Banacos (Mike Stern, Jeff Berlin, Jimmy Earl) who changed my musical life and gave me a whole new world of ideas. During last years I played in hundreds studio productions. In 2001 I began producer.
Unfortunately in 2002 I damaged my right hand and stopped playing double bass.
In 2008 I released my debut album entitled "Dedicated to Steve" with Philology Records, dedicated to great bassist Steve Swallow.
